[COGS] COGS Meeting Reminder & Housekeeping

Good Evening COGS Representatives and Funding Boards!

Welcome back to FSU & to a new academic year! As we prepare for classes to start back and events to pick up, there are a few things we need to take care of in house. PLEASE READ THIS EMAIL IN ITS ENTIRETY.  Please, make sure you are completing:

  1.  FERPA Consent Waiver: HERE<https://fsu.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_9MHmh9lHlRibbU1>. Yes, everyone will need to complete this again as we are now in the 2021-2022 school year. Completing this will ensure that we have the correct information for representatives and funding board members on the COGS website.
  2.  Review the Financial Manual/Enroll in the Canvas, & Pass the Exam: Please review the new & updated financial manual here<https://sga.fsu.edu/financial/sga_financial_manual_21_22.pdf>, complete the Canvas course, & PASS the financial exam by August 23rd HERE<https://canvas.fsu.edu/enroll/TE6RCG>. If you have already done this for the new fiscal year please disregard this step.
  3.  Funding Boards please remember to complete the re-recognition process through Student Orgs and Involvement. The outline for this process can be found on Nole Central & here<https://union.fsu.edu/sac/involvement/get-recognition>. Additionally, it may be helpful to follow-up with your RSOs about completing this process to ensure they can receive funding for this school year.

Representatives, this is a reminder that we will be having a Hybrid Meeting this Monday, August 23rd at 6:30 PM in HCB 103 & via Zoom (https://fsu.zoom.us/j/93820549250 ; Meeting ID: 938 2054 9250). Here are some reminders for our upcoming meeting:

  *   If you have not completed and passed the financial certification exam (make sure you do not only complete the course) by August 23rd, 2021 at 5PM, then you cannot vote on any of the bills or resolutions at this upcoming meeting.
  *   If you choose to attend the meeting in person at HCB 103, it is expected that you wear a mask inside of HCB 103. (Effective Aug. 9, 2021, the Florida Board of Governors and Florida State University expect masks to be worn by all individuals in all FSU facilities. This includes all students, faculty, staff, vendors and visitors.)
  *   We will be holding elections for the Deputy Speaker of Communications at Monday's meeting. The bill packet will be sent out Friday once all legislation has been submitted.
  *   As always, if you are unable to attend please email the COGS Speaker (COGSSpeaker at admin.fsu.edu<mailto:COGSSpeaker at admin.fsu.edu>) and COGS Deputy Speaker for Finance (COGSDepSpeaker at admin.fsu.edu<mailto:COGSDepSpeaker at admin.fsu.edu>).
