Dear FSU Environmental, Land Use, and Energy Law students,
The FSU College of Law - Career Services Team is ready to work with you on your career goals and the important “2L Summer” job. Many of you are participating in OCI right now, which is great, but we wanted to draw your attention to other exciting opportunities to consider—such as the Summer Legal Intern Program (SLIP) with federal agencies.
Summer 2021 Job Opportunities/ Federal Agencies/Deadlines before Labor Day
Are you interested in working for a federal agency in D.C. or another major city during your 2 L summer, or are you also thinking ahead to jobs after grad? One of the best ways to land a job after graduation in a federal agency like the Department of Justice, the EPA, the Department of Commerce, the IRS, the Army Corps of Engineers, the SEC and many others, is to secure a summer internship for 2021. These internships can also provide exposure and contacts to other employers in the D.C. area and major cities.
The deadlines for these coveted positions are approaching with most of these summer internships closing the end of August for before Labor Day (Sept 7).
As an example of one of these great opportunities, we have attached information on the Department of Justice, Environmental and Natural Resources Division Internships and Honors Program, and there are a myriad of others to review and consider. For a comprehensive listing of federal agencies accepting applications for summer 2021, please see the Government Honors & Internship Handbook (also known as the Arizona Handbook) in Symplicity shortcuts- right side of your page, scroll down. You can also go to the individual federal agency websites for specific information on the internships and federal honors programs for each agency.
We have alumni who have held these internships or who are currently working in many of these federal agencies. They would be happy to talk with you about their experiences.
Please contact Dean Henley (Career Services and Professional Development) if you have any questions or would like assistance with your application statements.
