[Isl] Zilong Xie joins the Institute for Successful Longevity

Zilong Xie has joined the Institute for Successful Longevity as a Faculty Affiliate.

Xie is Assistant Professor in the School of Communication Science and Disorders. Previously, he was with the University of Kansas Medical Center. Xie earned his doctorate in Communication Sciences and Disorders from the University of Texas at Austin.

Xie’s research involves understanding how age-related changes in auditory and cognitive functions limit speech understanding and translating this new knowledge into clinical strategies to improve the outcomes of older listeners, especially those with cochlear implants.

His work focuses on older adults with cochlear implants and on older adults with mild cognitive impairment.
