<p class="Default" style="line-height:150%"><span style="font-size:14.0pt;line-height:150%">Xie is Assistant Professor in the School of Communication Science and Disorders. Previously, he was with the University of Kansas Medical Center. Xie earned his doctorate
in Communication Sciences and Disorders from the University of Texas at Austin.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="Default" style="line-height:150%"><span style="font-size:14.0pt;line-height:150%">Xie’s research involves understanding how age-related changes in auditory and cognitive functions limit speech understanding and translating this new knowledge into
clinical strategies to improve the outcomes of older listeners, especially those with cochlear implants.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="Default" style="line-height:150%"><span style="font-size:14.0pt;line-height:150%">His work focuses on older adults with cochlear implants and on older adults with mild cognitive impairment.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
