An important message from FSU Office of Human Resources

This message has been approved by Shelley Lopez, Program Director, Communications/Special Projects, for distribution to Department Representatives.

The Office of Human Resources will implement a new policy, 4-OP-7-E1.12<https://policies.vpfa.fsu.edu/policies-and-procedures/faculty-staff/attendance-and-leave#E1.12>, Paid Time Off (PTO) for Postdoctoral Scholar Employees, which was developed as a tool for departments to recruit postdoctoral scholars.

Highlights

  *   The policy will be effective on March 6, 2020, and postdoctoral scholar will be credited their first accrual at the conclusion of the pay period.
  *   PTO is accrued and can be used for periodic vacations, personal reasons, illness, or other pre-approved reasons.
  *   PTO maximum balance is 104 hours. Once a postdoctoral scholar's leave balance reaches 104 hours, no further leave can accrue until leave is taken.
  *   PTO balances are forfeited at the time of separation.
Procedures

  *   PTO will be recorded using the OMNI timesheet and approved by the supervisor.

Training
Human Resources will host two informational sessions to provide an overview of the policy and time entry process. Sessions will be held at the Training Center on the following dates and times:

  *   COAL02-0001: Wednesday, March 11, 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m., Room 209
  *   COAL02-0002: Tuesday, March 24, 4:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m., Room 205 & 209
