[Fla-facrlboard] New web site

I’ve observed quite a few issues with membership expiration dates, because as treasurer I tend to be the one that members contact.

Ideally, we should have non-ACRL memberships run annually based on sign-up date, like ALA does. But WA seems to have assigned a number of people a May expiration date, regardless of when they joined. And many people join for the year in September or October, because they’re going to the FACRL annual meeting.

The members we load in from the national ACRL list should have membership expiration dates that correlate to their ACRL expiration date, right?

I’m copying Michael Schofield, who worked on upgrading our Wild Apricot site. Michael, what can you tell us about membership renewal dates, both what our current capabilities are, and what they might be? Thanks so much.

I was able to fix the logo problem – the other problem is trickier. On the admin side of the site it says 38 people have lapsed memberships. So far each of you that has reported the message is on that list but with a “renewal due” date of “never”. Other lapsed memberships have a renewal date that has passed so I think that’s the issue. I can go through and change the status to active and add an expiration date but I don’t know what date to use for each person.

Who has the latest list of members?

Hi all,
The logo is displaying correctly today. I am getting the same message as everyone else that my membership has lapsed, but I should be good through October

Good Morning all,

This site is definitely more user friendly.

When I logged in, it said my account is lapsed. I’m current with ACRL and my renewal is in June 2017. Also the logo wasn’t displaying correctly. I am attaching a screenshot.

Sincerely,
Melissa

Hi Everyone,

The content from the old web site has been transferred over to Wild Apricot. I also added some minutes from the past year and 2 events to promote our FLA activities. I’m hoping to add some annual reports soon since the last was from 2008. The documents are much more accessible/noticeable on the new web site ☺

To access the new site you can visit the original url: http://facrl.org<https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=http-3A__facrl.org&d=DwMGaQ&c=lhMMI368wojMYNABHh1gQQ&r=uzDUeWh5Uh1NUhhB6Z_bEA&m=URWnYr7dpaYCriwc_yFx2FZekkDayAmEDlPBQiHVk24&s=EhkF8pm4EPNN5gvWjR8aEjH0-eEHVHJRJaeUeR0qTm8&e=>. It will forward you to the new web site.

Before I send a message to the listserv about the new site, it would be helpful if a few of you could try to log on to the site. Since I was set up with credentials I never got to approach the site as a member would who was trying to log in for the first time. I’m wondering how easy it is… If a few of you could try and let me know that would be great ☺

Christina
