Instructional Specialist I – Academic Center for Excellence (Florida State University) – Job ID (56378)



The Instructional Specialist I position within the Academic Center for Excellence (ACE) is responsible for teaching 1-3 sections of SLS 1122: Strategies for Academic Success each semester, including summer. This is a one-credit course primarily serving first-time-in-college students in academic difficulty after their first semester of enrollment. The Instructional Specialist will work to develop and/or collaborate on academic recovery and student success initiatives within ACE and throughout the Division. This position includes individual student contact outside of class by offering one-on-one personal academic consultations. Additionally, the Instructional Specialist will present ACE workshops and invited presentations to the university at large.



Minimum qualifications include master’s degree from an accredited institution, in education or related area of specialization, minimum of two years teaching undergraduate students and/or relevant work experience in a higher education institution.
