[COGS] COGS: Recommend a Course We Could Speak To!

COGS Deputy Speaker for Communication SGA-COGS-Communication at fsu.edu
Tue Jan 11 14:02:50 EST 2022

Good afternoon all,

It was nice to reconnect after the holiday during last night's meeting! As I mentioned during our meeting, my goal for this semester is to speak in at least one class of every academic department here on campus. I am flexible to do this in person or through Zoom. I'd love your help with this! Please respond to this email (sga-cogs-communication at fsu.edu) with your department/college name, at least one course in your graduate department (include the course code), its instructor, and the instructor email (if available).

An example of this would be:
School of Information
Dr. Allison Smith
Course: ABC 2300
Email: smithabc at fsu.edu.

That's all I need!

You do not need to ask the instructor for permission prior to recommending their course. I will send each instructor an email, introduce myself and the mission of COGS, and ask if there would be an opportunity to speak to their graduate students during one of their class periods, or alternatively, if they could post a summary of COGS and information for joining as a representative to their course Canvas site.

With all this being said, if you ARE interested in joining me should the instructor agree to let me attend one of their class periods, I welcome you to take the lead however you see fit! These are your peers, and I am sure they will be excited to hear from you and learn of your experiences in COGS. However, this is by no means required of you.

I sincerely appreciate your timely feedback! If you'd like to chat about this, I hold office hours via Zoom on Tuesdays from 1:00-3:00pm and Thursdays from 1:00-4:00pm. Here is my Zoom link: https://fsu.zoom.us/j/93640485304

All the best,
Sara
