Facets of Florida
Curated by Moey Hewitt, FSU Art MFA Candidate

"Florida is a sunny place where shady things take place. In this exhibition, our goal is to highlight the seedy underbelly that resides beneath the post-card worthy surface of Florida. We look to the swamps where spotting a Florida man may be more frightening than an alligator, to the crusty street corner that is home to both the strip club and the church, and perhaps the most frightening place of all, the state government."

Selected work may focus on the idealized version of Florida, or may look to social, political, ecological issues. The aim is to present Florida as a multifaceted, nuanced place home to both the picturesque and the grotesque.
