FAR Research Night



Hi everyone,


Sending a reminder of the next FAR Research Night on Tuesday, October 8, at 7 pm. Please join us at FSU’s Facility for Arts Research (FAR), 3216 Sessions Road, Tallahassee, FL.


Presenters:

Tra Bouscaren recently joined the faculty of the FSU Department of Art as Assistant Professor of Critical Practices. Bouscaren is a post-disciplinary artist focused on American spectacle at the crossroads of waste culture and the surveillance state. Prior to joining the faculty at FSU, Bouscaren taught at the University of Arizona, the University of California at Santa Cruz, the University of Texas at El Paso, SUNY Buffalo, the University of Pennsylvania, and the National Academy of Fine Arts in Helsinki. Teaching areas include: Installation Art, Aesthetics and Critical Theory, Media History and Theory, Assemblage, Provisional Practices, Video Art, Interactive Media, and New Genres. http://www.tra-bouscaren.com/works.html

Cheri Marks is the 2019-2020 SCAP<https://scap.art.fsu.edu> Resident Artist. Marks is a printer, binder and papermaker. She received a BA from Florida State University with a concentration in Printmaking in 2017. She is a student at The University of Alabama working toward her MFA in Book Arts. Cheri makes prints and artist books under the name Blue Section Press<https://bluesectionpress.com/>.
