Greetings everyone,

I would like to invite you ( and your students ) to a special lecture on the history of anatomy which I am hosting in room 2009 of the WJB, this October 8th from 9am to 10:15am.

Dr. Christopher of the FSU medical college has graciously offered to give this talk to my Figure 2 course as well as any other interested faculty and students at our college. Given that many of us work with, refer to, or are inspired by the figure in general, I am sure you or some of your students would be very interested in this subject.

The lecture will cover the history of the study of the human body and its related social/ cultural concerns. Dr. Christopher's knowledge of this niche subject is exceptional and I have been floored by how relevant this history is to the treatment of the contemporary figure. How we got to where we are is wild and weird indeed.

Dr. Christopher intends to bring some of his own interested colleagues as well, which makes for an excellent networking opportunity for students interested in scientific or anatomic illustration.

WJB 2009 comfortably seats 49. If you would like to attend, or plan to come as a group, please let me know. If necessary we can have more chairs brought in.

I hope to see you there!

-Robert Austin Yorke
