Our experience has been similar to Melissa's at Montevallo. We have tried
and/or looked at many different programs and they either didn't meet our
needs or the cost was prohibitive. I contacted our Mathematics/computer
Science department and they had a graduate student in Informatics that
needed a graduate project. She did a phenomenal job listening and putting
together exactly what we needed. We will be working on the implementation
of it this fall. It's not a quick process, by any means, but the only cost
is time, and it got the computer science faculty and student excited to
have a "real life project."
