Dear current and former students in the FSU Law Environmental Program,
Below please find three additional fellowship openings. Please note the tight deadline for applying for the Miami position (January 31).
Miami Law, deadline January 31
We are excited to announce that we are hiring a new Mysun Foundation Fellow to start in May 2020. This is a one-year fellowship (with the possibility of renewal) based in University of Miami School of Law's Environmental Justice Clinic. For more information on how to join our team and on our cutting edge work, please go to: https://tinyurl.com/ejcmysunapp<https://urldefense.com/v3/__https:/tinyurl.com/ejcmysunapp__;!!PhOWcWs!hSnA-egqHdb2CmUJTkpq7XHCXt8HhYa5szMt1LA2UiBvr2GqqJaLmd7dSMxFNBYnZWI$> The deadline to apply is January 31, 2020.
The University of Miami School of Law's Environmental Justice Clinic advocates for and seeks to empower low-and moderate-income communities who disproportionately bear the environmental, economic, and health burdens of the development, implementation, and enforcement of the law. Employing a community lawyering approach, we seek systemic change for our clients through advocacy, public policy resources, rights education, and transactional assistance. Our work sits at the intersection of civil rights, environmental, poverty, and public health law, tackling issues in South Florida including climate change, displacement, contamination, environmental health, municipal equity, and more. Increasingly, we view our work through the lens of climate change, one of the most significant social justice issues of our time, and which will be felt most acutely by the poor and marginalized.
Please share and circulate!
Sincerely,
Natalie

Indiana University, deadline February 6
The Indiana University Environmental Resilience Institute's current conservation law fellow, Luis Inaraja Vera, has recently accepted a tenure-track position at Gonzaga Law. We're a bit late in the cycle for posting a fellowship announcement, but I ask you to spread word to any former students or current fellows who might be interested in conservation law research in a collaborative, interdisciplinary setting. I'll be chairing the search and will continue to be the mentor for the conservation law fellow.
The Environmental Resilience Institute (ERI; https://eri.iu.edu/index.html<https://urldefense.com/v3/__https:/eri.iu.edu/index.html__;!!PhOWcWs!nSreiCOmBGvMJ6Z-ZPRLuEvsK8S4BNYahBqJ1tAgOw3JZ975JPQ8lHy7QWYYfjKRYcA$>) at Indiana University (IU) invites applications for a 2-year Fellow position in conservation law to begin in the summer or early fall of 2020. We define conservation broadly to encompass all the issues associated with social-environmental resilience. Applicants with interests in private-land conservation, energy law, easements and other property tools, bird migration conservation, and public-private collaborations are especially encouraged to apply. Other fellows and ERI faculty will serve as potential cross-disciplinary collaborators. Fellows may work with law faculty and other attorneys affiliated with the Conservation Law Center (http://conservationlawcenter.org/<https://urldefense.com/v3/__http:/conservationlawcenter.org/__;!!PhOWcWs!nSreiCOmBGvMJ6Z-ZPRLuEvsK8S4BNYahBqJ1tAgOw3JZ975JPQ8lHy7QWYYEmUopSQ$>). Starting salary is $70,000.
The position is part of IU's Grand Challenge initiative in Prepared for Environmental Change (http://grandchallenges.iu.edu/p4ec<https://urldefense.com/v3/__http:/grandchallenges.iu.edu/p4ec__;!!PhOWcWs!nSreiCOmBGvMJ6Z-ZPRLuEvsK8S4BNYahBqJ1tAgOw3JZ975JPQ8lHy7QWYYOF4aDmg$>). The successful candidate will join a cohort of ERI Fellows (https://eri.iu.edu/about-us/researchers/index.html#fellows<https://urldefense.com/v3/__https:/eri.iu.edu/about-us/researchers/index.html*fellows__;Iw!!PhOWcWs!nSreiCOmBGvMJ6Z-ZPRLuEvsK8S4BNYahBqJ1tAgOw3JZ975JPQ8lHy7QWYYKIqNEp4$>) and a growing community of colleagues across the natural sciences, social sciences, and humanities who are engaged in this collaborative program of research and communication about environmental change.
Applicants must have a J.D. prior to employment along with relevant research or practice experience in conservation law. The fellow will receive a research scholar appointment at the Indiana University Maurer School of Law, which has a cohort of several law fellows in other fields. The law fellow's office will be located at the Conservation Law Center, where there is another fellow handling clinical matters. The conservation law fellow will be invited to participate in Maurer faculty workshops. Teaching a law course, while not required, is an option. The focus of this fellowship is research. Excellent fellow candidates will have experience with and openness toward multi- and trans-disciplinary collaborative research. Some prior publication or work-in-progress is preferred. Fellows will be expected to develop independent research programs that interface with ERI's multidisciplinary initiative.
To ensure full consideration, applications should be submitted by February 6, 2020 but will continue to be considered until the position is filled. Interested candidates should review the job description and submit application materials online at https://indiana.peopleadmin.com/postings/9136<https://urldefense.com/v3/__https:/indiana.peopleadmin.com/postings/9136__;!!PhOWcWs!nSreiCOmBGvMJ6Z-ZPRLuEvsK8S4BNYahBqJ1tAgOw3JZ975JPQ8lHy7QWYYKRXWLTw$>
