Dear Environmental Certificate Students,

The Air & Waste Management Association<http://flawma.org/> is a group of "professionals and students from all over the world, working in the environmental and related industries." It includes many attorneys who work in the area of environmental law. The Florida Section of the Association is hosting its annual conference<http://flawma.org/events/2019-conference/> in Tallahassee this year, and this is a great opportunity for you to network with consultants, attorneys, and other professionals in the area. The conference has interesting presentations about recent developments in environmental law, including law specific to Florida, and it includes student competitions involving student posters-preparing a poster that summarizes and analyzes a recent environmental law case, for example-and "environmental challenges," in which students address a hypothetical environmental problem. In the past, FSU Law students have won second place and third place honors in these competitions. Participating in these types of competitions can be a nice resume builder in addition to a good learning experience. Students who volunteer or compete at the event can register for free, and other students can register for a reduced price. I encourage you to attend.

Hear from agency, academic, consulting, and industry leaders on a variety of hot topics and emerging trends.  Topics to include: FDEP Leadership Roundtable, Sustainability and Resilience, Florida Legislative Updates, Waste Management Roundtable, Solid Waste and Water Forums, and Air Quality updates.  We are also happy to introduce a new session to the Conference, titled Environmental Ethics, which will provide the 1-hour credit needed for PEs.
