Dear ISL faculty affiliates and JAB members,
I’m excited to share that with the help of our newly appointed Outreach Assistant, Victoria Valko, our Admin Assistant Nehja, and Web Master Dhruv, we have revamped ISL’s social media presence and launched a refreshed media strategy to better showcase the important work happening across ISL.
You can now find us across all major platforms—Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, YouTube, X (Twitter), and, of course, our ISL website. All of these can be easily accessed via our Linktree:

We’ll be regularly sharing updates on ISL events, programs, research highlights, and featured affiliates. This is a critical time for aging research, and I’ve come to realize that, as academics, we haven’t done enough to tell our stories and let our peers and the general public know about the incredible work being done here. We plan to use these social media sites with an industry-leading social media campaign strategy to communicate what we do at ISL to the world. This will significantly increase our visibility, which will help us garner more support and recognition.
Soon, we will be reaching out to you about your great work that should be featured by ISL. This could include featured stories, featured videos, etc. If you have any news about your research, please feel free to share it using this Qualtrics link: https://fsu.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_6GpBYeM0WBWjmxE<https://nam04.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Ffsu.qualtrics.com%2Fjfe%2Fform%2FSV_6GpBYeM0WBWjmxE&data=05%7C02%7Cisl%40lists.fsu.edu%7Ccb36f6a70caa411d53c208dd6bc616ec%7Ca36450ebdb0642a78d1b026719f701e3%7C0%7C0%7C638785220702667147%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJFbXB0eU1hcGkiOnRydWUsIlYiOiIwLjAuMDAwMCIsIlAiOiJXaW4zMiIsIkFOIjoiTWFpbCIsIldUIjoyfQ%3D%3D%7C0%7C%7C%7C&sdata=qq%2FaSUhf7F5VeKK0pD1VRm74YoQGTXuWcCrKf14ztsg%3D&reserved=0>, which can be found on the news page of our ISL website (https://isl.fsu.edu/news<https://nam04.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fisl.fsu.edu%2Fnews&data=05%7C02%7Cisl%40lists.fsu.edu%7Ccb36f6a70caa411d53c208dd6bc616ec%7Ca36450ebdb0642a78d1b026719f701e3%7C0%7C0%7C638785220702682106%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJFbXB0eU1hcGkiOnRydWUsIlYiOiIwLjAuMDAwMCIsIlAiOiJXaW4zMiIsIkFOIjoiTWFpbCIsIldUIjoyfQ%3D%3D%7C0%7C%7C%7C&sdata=809gVTyUNI03fAJ%2FNZgGBiUOm6g%2BRMzMCjFYhpeVmWc%3D&reserved=0>). We would like these blurbs to be easily understandable by the general public so please avoid any jargons if possible.
We will start a new round of campaign for ISL Volunteer Registry. In the past 10 years, ISL registry has been used in more than 100 research studies across our campus. We’d really like it to keep it up to date and potentially expand to younger people (e.g., 50+). Having our social media presence would really help us get more volunteers in the community to sign up for the registry and participate in research studies here at FSU. If you have ever used ISL registry, we hope you will share your stories and what you found in these studies and we can help you communicate these to our aging community for real-world impact.
That’s where you come in—please follow our accounts and share our posts with your professional networks. Together, we can raise awareness of the real-world impact of aging research at FSU and highlight the contributions of our outstanding faculty, students, and collaborators.
Thank you for helping us amplify our message and promote successful longevity far beyond the lab!
Warm regards,
Zhe He, PhD, FAMIA
