The Institute for Successful Longevity (ISL) at Florida State University (FSU) is seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Research Fellow to join our dynamic team. The fellow will focus on interdisciplinary research related to aging, leveraging data science, artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning, and clinical research to enhance the quality of life for older adults. This role involves working closely with ISL researchers, faculty members across FSU, and other institutions to identify research opportunities, address gaps and needs, and organize activities to advance the field of aging research. Responsibilities:
-Conduct innovative research in the field of aging, with a focus on data science, biostatistics, AI, machine learning, and clinical interventions
-Develop and apply machine learning and AI techniques to analyze healthcare data, including electronic health records (EHRs), public health survey data, wearable device data, and other relevant datasets
-Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to design and implement studies aimed at improving health outcomes and quality of life for older adults.
-Publish research findings in high-impact peer-reviewed journals and present at national and international conferences
-Assist in the preparation of grant proposals and funding applications to support aging research projects
-Mentor undergraduate and graduate students involved in aging research projects within the ISL
-Participate in ISL’s community engagement and outreach activities to disseminate research findings and promote public understanding of aging-related issues
Qualifications:
* A PhD in biomedical informatics, biostatistics, data science, computer science, information science, gerontology, public health, or a related field.
* Demonstrated experience in conducting research related to aging, with a strong emphasis on data science, AI, machine learning, and clinical research methods.
* Strong publication record with at least 2 first-author papers in recognized journals or conference proceedings related to aging, biostatistics, health informatics, machine learning, natural language processing, and AI.
* Proficiency in statistical analysis and programming skills in Python, R, or other relevant software.
* Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
