An important message from FSU Office of Human Resources
This message has been approved by Shelley Lopez, Program Director, Communications/Special Projects, for distribution to all Department Representatives.
We are pleased to announce that Human Resources recently updated its Staff Exit Survey and introduced a new Staff Role Transition Survey. We designed these initiatives to gather valuable information to support our continuous improvement efforts.
* Updated Staff Exit Survey: The updated exit survey aims to capture more comprehensive feedback from employees as they leave the university. This feedback is crucial for identifying areas of improvement and enhancing our organizational practices. A more comprehensive approach to data collection will help identify trends and support cause identification, providing a structured framework for developing solutions.
* New Staff Role Transition Survey: While an Exit Survey is in place to capture information from those leaving the institution, the newly created Staff Role Transition Survey focuses on gathering comprehensive insights from employees transitioning to new roles within the university. This survey will help us understand the reasons behind internal movements and identify opportunities for growth and development.
Department representatives are integral to the data collection process that supports continuous improvement. By actively engaging with employees and facilitating their participation in the surveys, representatives help gather essential insights that drive organizational growth. Your efforts in promoting and supporting these surveys are greatly appreciated.
Best Practices for Survey Collection:
1. Inform the Employee Early: Notify employees about the surveys as soon as they decide to leave the university or transition to a new role. Early communication ensures they are aware of the importance of their feedback.
2. Explain the Purpose: Outline the surveys' goals and how their data will enhance the organization. Emphasize that their feedback is valuable and will contribute to positive changes.
3. Provide Access: Ensure employees have easy access to the surveys<https://nam04.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fhr.fsu.edu%2Fsections%2Femployee-labor-relations%2Fexit-and-employee-role-transition-survey&data=05%7C02%7Chrms%40lists.fsu.edu%7C42096c0176bb4b827aae08ddbd5858da%7Ca36450ebdb0642a78d1b026719f701e3%7C0%7C0%7C638874909315384486%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJFbXB0eU1hcGkiOnRydWUsIlYiOiIwLjAuMDAwMCIsIlAiOiJXaW4zMiIsIkFOIjoiTWFpbCIsIldUIjoyfQ%3D%3D%7C0%7C%7C%7C&sdata=%2B2vi4SNeTl%2F3Irg0u7z0Hr%2FGJAGBI2Gl90TN4O0hiYE%3D&reserved=0>. Share links or provide instructions on how to complete them online.
4. Follow Up: Follow up with employees to remind them to complete the surveys if they haven't done so. A gentle reminder can increase participation rates.
Thank you in advance for supporting the continual improvement of FSU.
