An important message from FSU Office of Human Resources
This message has been approved by Shelley Lopez, Program Director, Communications/Special Projects, for distribution to all Department Representatives.
Departments Representatives: Please share the following information with employees in your department.
In observation of Disability Employment Awareness Month, the Equity, Diversity & Inclusion Office (EDI) in Human Resources, invites you to a panel discussion on Mental Health in the Workplace. Mental illnesses/disorders are designated as disabilities under the Americans with Disabilities Act<https://www.dol.gov/general/topic/disability/ada> (ADA). An estimated 50% of all Americans have been diagnosed with a mental illness or disorder at some point in their lifetime. In the United States, adults are reporting considerably elevated adverse mental health conditions related to COVID-19 (CDC<https://www.cdc.gov/mentalhealth/index.htm>), making this a very timely discussion.
