Subject: [hpc-staff] HPC Storage issues

Hi HPC users,

We are currently experiencing an issue with our GPFS storage system on the High Performance Compute cluster. This is affecting logins to our compute and login nodes.

Specifically, when you login to a login node via SSH or Open OnDemand, the connection hangs indefinitely. When logging in via SSH, you can bypass the issue by pressing CTRL+C during login.

As far as we know, currently running jobs should not be affected unless they use MATLAB or any libraries in the /gpfs/research/software volume.

Our systems team has identified the issue and is working on correcting it. We will send another notice when it is resolved.

Best regards,
The RCC Team
