Hi All,

FACRL received a sponsorship request for the Panhandle Academic Libraries
Conference. I have added this to the agenda for next week's meeting but
wanted to share the information with you all in advance.

Thanks,
Alyssa

Panhandle Academic Libraries Conference

*Function and Form: Academic Libraries in Motion*

July 16, 2021

Online conference

Dear Alyssa,

I am pleased to announce the third annual Panhandle Academic Libraries
Conference (PALC). Over one year into the COVID19 pandemic, we have learned
a lot about our libraries, our teams, our services, and how our community
needs us to provide seamless and continuous services. We’ve gone through
tremendous changes and are facing more headwinds in the months and years
ahead. We also see a desire by staff in academic libraries to learn from
each other and to share their experiences. This is where the PALC
conference comes in. We have specifically designed our conference for
academic libraries in our region to facilitate these important connections
amongst colleagues from different institutions. We will be offering the
conference once again in an online only format and completely free of
charge to all of our participants.

This year’s conference will take place on July 16, 2021. We expect that
this daylong event will bring together at least 150 academic library
professionals to learn from and with each other. During our 2020
conference, with the theme of *Focus on Libraries: 2020 Vision, *we had
over 200 registered participants.

Our program and events are updated on the conference webpage
https://urldefense.com/v3/__https://www.plan.lib.fl.us/palc2021/__;!!PhOWcWs!hPljRAP6IPcmCdIUv5rwVguPfhbtveKMjSMIkwoJgTvCV2PCCxqa_iOz9S91rWqyQRZKlFLhxA$ . At this time, we are pleased to
share that we have confirmed Tracie D. Hall, Executive Director of the
American Library Association
<https://urldefense.com/v3/__https://americanlibrariesmagazine.org/blogs/the-scoop/ala-appoints-tracie-d-hall-as-executive-director/__;!!PhOWcWs!hPljRAP6IPcmCdIUv5rwVguPfhbtveKMjSMIkwoJgTvCV2PCCxqa_iOz9S91rWqyQRYvf5fUHQ$ >as
our keynote speaker. The call for proposals closes today March 26, 2021 and
we look forward to an engaging and lively mix of sessions.

We are pleased to once again have PLAN (Panhandle Library Access Network
<https://urldefense.com/v3/__https://www.plan.lib.fl.us__;!!PhOWcWs!hPljRAP6IPcmCdIUv5rwVguPfhbtveKMjSMIkwoJgTvCV2PCCxqa_iOz9S91rWqyQRbaBpWAjA$ >) as our organizational partner. We’d love for
FACRL to join us once again as a sponsor and to reach our colleagues at the
PALC conference.

*Sponsorship Opportunities:*

All sponsorship requests are for $250.

Since our conference remains online only we are not able to offer the usual
tiered sponsorship packages. However, we would like to invite you to show
your support for our community even during this unusual time. All sponsors
will be recognized on our website, in our marketing materials, and
throughout the conference.

We also recognize that in the same way our libraries are impacted by
COVID19, so are you and your organizations. If you cannot contribute at
this level but would like to get involved please let me know so we can
explore opportunities. Furthermore, if you have ideas or suggestions about
how you’d like to connect with conference participants please let me know.
I’d love to explore ideas with you.

Thank you for your consideration and help in making our vision of creating
a conference for academic libraries in the Panhandle a reality.

I look forward to hearing back from you and am happy to answer any question
you may have.

Best regards,

Michael Meth
