Steering Committee on Organizational Effectiveness (SCOE)<https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=https-3A__forwardtogether.ala.org_index.php_about-2Dscoe_steering-2Dcommittee_&d=DwMGaQ&c=AyrajPdOsbMUQ9pNazKW2A&r=FyvcYREalb0jPLDqoov8JGRduZAXtPG8h-SV9Up2P4I&m=FRFUy9Co6Fqi8gwbgurVufw7-MSxQJSUr9RVWPUcIPg&s=k_Mc-JECKdY5bhR3NqTKk0aHYJIj952j8rL58XOBhWk&e=>

At the ACRL virtual Leadership Council, SCOE chair Lessa Pelayo-Lozada and SCOE member (and ACRL Board member) Emily Daly provided a high-level overview SCOE’s work. There were several opportunities for groups to provide input on SCOE’s report, including a session for divisions that several ACRL board members attended including myself. You may have already seen the joint ACRL-PLA response which was also a topic of the Leadership Council. This letter<https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=https-3A__www.acrl.ala.org_acrlinsider_archives_18822&d=DwMGaQ&c=AyrajPdOsbMUQ9pNazKW2A&r=FyvcYREalb0jPLDqoov8JGRduZAXtPG8h-SV9Up2P4I&m=FRFUy9Co6Fqi8gwbgurVufw7-MSxQJSUr9RVWPUcIPg&s=3or8wcNucJX6mhoUhVS11D9YX2QJ9O_ndGI19NYJxOQ&e=> covers the key issues that several divisions voiced at the Midwinter session. There will be one more opportunity to provide feedback to SCOE. SCOE will host a virtual webinar on Thursday, February 13, 1-2pm: Forward Together Virtual Webinar—Update and Q&A. You and your colleagues can provide feedback on the recommendations at any time at this site: https://urldefense.com/v3/__https://forwardtogether.ala.org/index.php/give-feedback/__;!!PhOWcWs!hIhtLHPO_5PylZwIU7XLvJYN_TLD-T-y9_z1QLzC8jMFwlKlShtKRgO7RBu-ktVwiAPAGOUHow$ <https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=https-3A__forwardtogether.ala.org_index.php_give-2Dfeedback_&d=DwMGaQ&c=AyrajPdOsbMUQ9pNazKW2A&r=FyvcYREalb0jPLDqoov8JGRduZAXtPG8h-SV9Up2P4I&m=FRFUy9Co6Fqi8gwbgurVufw7-MSxQJSUr9RVWPUcIPg&s=RJDKXQEHOqRoALUtn81HbxpsFZMhwpLF08A8PI8EhCo&e=>

Leadership Breakfast

As you know, we moved to a virtual Leadership Council meeting this year, in anticipation of upcoming changes to Midwinter meeting. This breakfast on Saturday morning was an informal chance to meet and greet, network, and gather member leaders together. We had a relatively full room (about 50 people) for 7 am on Saturday morning! If you attended, I'd be interested to hear your thoughts on either the in-person breakfast or the virtual Leadership Council model.

ACRL 2021

Work is proceeding to plan and coordinate our next conference. If you hadn’t seen the news already, the call for proposals<https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=https-3A__www.acrl.ala.org_acrlinsider_archives_18464&d=DwMGaQ&c=AyrajPdOsbMUQ9pNazKW2A&r=FyvcYREalb0jPLDqoov8JGRduZAXtPG8h-SV9Up2P4I&m=FRFUy9Co6Fqi8gwbgurVufw7-MSxQJSUr9RVWPUcIPg&s=3vJtCkeBBY1jxgD_2CovY_myc-x2t6QCDdGsguwTQeI&e=> has already been issued. There are a couple of new additions to the call for participation, including a limit on participation and an equity statement. I would ask you to please share this information widely so we can maximize participation. For those who may be new to presenting at ACRL, there is a free hour-long webcast providing tips on proposals but it does require registration<https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=https-3A__ala-2Devents.zoom.us_webinar_register_WN-5FHHAc4L5kQ-5FyJaocbKxq7og&d=DwMGaQ&c=AyrajPdOsbMUQ9pNazKW2A&r=FyvcYREalb0jPLDqoov8JGRduZAXtPG8h-SV9Up2P4I&m=FRFUy9Co6Fqi8gwbgurVufw7-MSxQJSUr9RVWPUcIPg&s=IUWlYEurwtrejWowXfTnqngquk3Ur6AzCJqwWVBUnrY&e=>.

ALA/ACRL finances

The ACRL budget for FY21 was on the ACRL board agenda to review. As we are legally and financially a part of ALA, the Budget and Finance Committee as well as the Board also pays attention to ALA's finances. You may have heard some of the news about ALA finances. If not, you might find these two readings helpful in forming a picture of ALA's current financial situation:

We will strive to keep ACRL members informed, especially in regard to any implications for our division. As always, if you have questions, please don't hesitate to reach out.

Thank you for your work for ACRL, and I look forward to seeing some of you at Annual conference in Chicago.
