Dear Colleagues,

Two of our distinguished FSU EOAS alumni and one of our current EOAS faculty recently were notified they were being awarded the College of Earth and Mineral Sciences 125th Anniversary Fellow Awards from a peer university and department (Penn State Atmospheric Science and Meteorology):

Dr. Michael Farrar, Director of NCEP/NWS/NOAA. PSU ’87, FSU '91, ‘97

Mr. Edward Mansouri, Founder and Chief Executive Officer, WeatherSTEM PSU ’95, FSU ‘98

Prof. Robert Hart, Professor of Meteorology, Florida State University. PSU ’95, ’97, ‘01

The three were part of a group of 18 PSU meteorology/atmospheric science alumni to receive this award, given once every 25 years by their College.

The description of the Fellowship is:

“Fellows shall be graduates who are at the prime of their careers in academia, the private sector, government, and public service. Of particular attention are those graduates who have demonstrated strong leadership in their respective communities, who have been pioneers in diversity, and who have contributed substantially to the welfare of humanity using the skills and knowledge the college equipped them with upon graduation. Fellows will be honored at the Celebration of Accomplishment: 125 Years of Earth and Mineral Sciences banquet on October 30, 2021.”
