The Classics Department's annual Elizabeth Hunter Memorial Lecture will be given this Thursday, March 24, at 6:30 pm, in WJB 2004. The lecture will be given by Prof. Alex Purves (UCLA) who will speak on "Deep Blue Homer: Underwater Worlds in Greek Myth and Poetry."

Professor Purves has published widely on Greek literature, including the books Space and Time in Ancient Greek Narrative (Cambridge University Press 2010) and Homer and the Poetics of Gesture (Oxford University Press 2019). She is also the recipient of UCLA's Distinguished Teaching Award.

The Hunter Lecture is intended specifically for undergraduate students, and we hope to see you there!
