[COGS] Budget Amendment Language

[COGS Deputy Speaker for Communication]

Dear Representatives,


As a reminder, COGS has an extra $41,332 that was not originally accounted for in the Budget Committee. Therefore, members are strongly encouraged to consider and propose amendments to the budget. Members interested in proposing amendments are requested to email SGA-COGS-Communications at fsu.edu<mailto:SGA-COGS-Communications at fsu.edu> and SGA-COGSSpeaker at fsu.edu<mailto:SGA-COGSSpeaker at fsu.edu> with their proposed amendment(s) by noon, Thursday March 24th, in order to get priority consideration on the floor. Members may still have some priority if they submit their amendment(s) prior to the start of the COGS meeting. Members may still raise amendments on the floor, but these amendments will have the lowest priority. Amendments should be emailed in one of the following forms:

                “I will move to amend [Name of the line item] to change the funding in the [X] Category to $[AMOUNT].”

                “I will move to amend to create a line item named [NAME], with funding in [X] Category in the amount of $[AMOUNT].”

                “I will move to amend to add/change/delete proviso language for [NAME of LINE ITEM] (to read: [PROVISO TEXT]).”

                “I will move to amend to remove the [NAME] line item.”

Members seeking to propose amendments related to university entities are strongly encouraged to reach out to the entity prior to proposing the amendment to determine the effects of the amendment.
