Dear COGS Representatives,

I am forwarding you an invitation to join a campus organization:

On behalf of the entire Nineteen Ten Honorary Executive Board, we hope you had a wonderful winter break and holiday season. My name is Sarah Nemeth, and I serve as the Director of Membership for the Honorary. We were founded this past Fall semester to recognize and honor those who identify as women or support women and have had a positive impact on their communities and Florida State University. Our name pays homage to the first full functioning year of the College for Women, which was established in 1909. 1910 marks a year where women established themselves and their vision for the college that would eventually be known as Florida State University. In 2023, Florida State continues to be a place where women of all backgrounds excel and pursue greatness.

As we enter the Spring 2023 semester and open membership applications for our inaugural class, we are excited to invite the members of the Congress of Graduate Students who identify with our values and mission to apply. Because we are in our first year on campus, we would greatly appreciate your help in spreading the word about the Honorary. Please feel free to share the information below in any way you see fit, and thank you in advance.

Purpose: The Nineteen Ten Honorary serves to recognize women and people who support women who have shown dedication to our values of ambition, compassion, and innovation. We strive to create an empowering community to inspire the next generation of women leaders.

Membership Statement: Membership is limited to all students who are enrolled with Florida State University. No hazing or discrimination will be used as a condition for membership in this organization. This organization agrees to adhere to the University nondiscrimination statement: No university student may be denied membership on the basis of race, creed, color, sex, religion, national origin, age, disability, veterans' or marital status, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, or any other protected group status.

Membership Expectations: Be in good standing with the university, have earned an overall GPA of at least 3.0, have held at least two leadership positions in organizations on or off campus, and complete an application and interview in the beginning of the semester.

Recruitment Timeline: Applications will open on January 16th and close on January 30th. Interviews will be held during the week of February 6th. The Honorary will also be holding an informational event to celebrate the creation of the Honorary and our potential members. The event is tentatively scheduled for January 23rd.
