College of Education Students,

I apologize for the late notice about this event. I’ve only just learned about it this morning.

Students are invited to join the FSU Center for Leadership & Social Change, the FSU Counseling Center, and the FSU Division of Student Affairs today for the first in a series of student listening sessions. Feel free to share the information below with other FSU students. Please note that registration ends today (June 5) at noon.

“This listening session will be the first in a series of programs organized by the Center for Leadership & Social Change and the University Counseling Center for Florida State students to talk about racial injustice and social change. Students are encouraged to drop in any time between 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. to express their feelings or voice concerns in small groups. University faculty and staff will hold space in each room to listen and facilitate conversation. Stay as long or as little as you need to during the two-hour session.”

The program will require advance registration, with the link to access the platform sent out on Friday afternoon. Register by noon on today at https://ncbi.fsu.edu/events.

Additionally, a recent post has been published on the Center for Leadership and Social Change’s website that shares some reflections from the Center’s co-director Joi Phillips along with some campus and community resources. https://thecenter.fsu.edu/article/im-always-worried.

Finally, in case you missed it, please see the message from Dr. Amy Hecht, Vice President for Student Affairs at Florida State University: https://studentaffairs.fsu.edu/about-us/news/a-message-from-vpsa-dr-amy-hecht.

Best wishes,

Attention students: The official method of communication at Florida State University is your FSU e-mail account. In order to stay informed and aware, you are required to set up and maintain your student account and check it three times per week. If you choose to have your official FSU student email account forwarded to another e-mail account, you are still held responsible for all information distributed by the University to your FSU account.

If you are receiving this email, you have been identified by the university as officially pursuing a graduate or undergraduate major within the College of Education at Florida State University. The COE graduate listserv is a resource used strictly by COE administrators to ensure our students are well-informed of important updates, deadlines and opportunities that will benefit both their academic and/or professional endeavors. You will never receive any spam or other unnecessary email through this listserv and you will be removed as a recipient following completion of your degree or change of major (typically at the end of your final semester in the college). If you are not a currently enrolled graduate student in the FSU COE, please contact Ms. Rhonda Hester at rhester at fsu.edu<mailto:rhester at fsu.edu>. If you have concerns regarding this listserv, please contact the COE Associate Dean for Academic Affairs, Dr. Amy R. Guerette at aguerette at fsu.edu<mailto:aguerette at fsu.edu>.
