Career Center Virtual Resources

The Career Center has a number of online resources designed to help you in your professional development and connect with potential employers. This includes the newly launched NoleNetwork, which is replacing Handshake. By creating a profiling and filling out your information, NoleNetwork will suggest jobs and internships that are relevant to you and your goals.

TOEFL iBT and GRE General Test Changes

ETS has announced that students impacted by the coronavirus will be able to take the TOEFL iBT and GRE General Test at home until test centers can be reopened. Testing will be conducted through the use of live remote proctoring.

The Honors, Scholars and Fellows House's next speaker in their speaker series is Bethany Swonson, the current Deputy Chief of Staff for the Florida Department of Education.

Swonson (Public Relations B.S. '13) will be giving a presentation on how the Florida Department of Education has worked to support the education system during the COVID-19 pandemic and provide guidance on ways institutions can use the CARES Act for the benefit of our students.

She is also serving as the primary investigator on a National Science Foundation-funded project. The project, titled "Facilitating Teacher Learning with Video Clips of Instruction in Science" aims to build foundational knowledge about teacher learning with and from video clips of science instruction within a professional development, which will be designed to support teachers' learning to implement NGSS-aligned performance-based assessment tasks with ambitious teaching practices. Colleagues from Stanford University, Carnegie Mellon University, and Northwestern University are also working on the project.
