Good morning! Please see below (and the attached documents) for a listing of upcoming important dates and deadlines for graduate students in spring 2019. The Registrar’s Academic Calendars and Enrollment Appointment (registration) Calendars are found at http://registrar.fsu.edu/calendar/. Please bookmark this important site for future reference. As always, please do not respond directly to this listserv email.
Summer 2019 and Fall 2019 registration will be open from Monday, March 5, 2018—8:00 a.m. (Eastern US) through Friday, April 27, 2018—11:59 p.m. (Eastern US). Below I have provided the names and email addresses for the graduate academic coordinators in the College of Education. * Doctoral candidates are required to register for a minimum two (2) semester hours of dissertation every term, including summer. International students and students on assistantships may have greater requirements.
* Thesis students and doctoral candidates are required to register for a minimum two (2) semester hours of thesis or dissertation in the semester of graduation.
* All exams (comps, prelims, etc.) and all defenses require registration – contact your department for details.

Upcoming IMPORTANT GRADUATE STUDENT DATES - Spring 2019
End of 7th Week of the Semester
February 22, 2019
* Last day to submit form requesting S/U grading or to change S/U option back to a regular grade.
* Last day to reduce course load without the permission of Academic Dean. Dean’s permission required to drop below twelve semester hours.
* Last day to drop a course without receiving a grade.
* Last day to withdraw without receiving a grade.
* Last day for doctoral students to take and pass their preliminary examination in order to add or convert dissertation hours for the current semester.
March 22, 2019 - Last day for Doctoral Prospectus approval during the Spring semester in order to graduate in Summer 2019. The Doctoral Prospectus must be approved by the academic dean at least four (4) months prior to Dissertation Defense. Note: This date is approximately four (4) months from The Graduate School’s Summer 2019 final manuscript clearance deadline.
March 25, 2019 - Last day for doctoral students to submit doctoral dissertation to The Graduate School for pre-defense format review. ALL initial manuscripts MUST be submitted by this date in order to be eligible to graduate this semester. *
April 8, 2019 - Last day for master’s thesis students to submit their thesis to The Graduate School for pre-defense format review. ALL initial manuscripts MUST be submitted by this date in order to be eligible to graduate this semester. *
April 22, 2019 – Final manuscript submission deadline. Last day for submission of the post-defense, content-corrected thesis or dissertation and required forms/submissions to The Graduate (by 5:00p.m. Eastern U.S.). All signatures/approvals must be obtained before the forms are submitted to the Manuscript Clearance Advisor. *
April 26, 2019 - Last Day of Classes
* Deadline for submission of all Spring 2019 Comprehensive Exam/Portfolio results (Masters/Specialist students), Diagnostic Exam Results and Doctoral Preliminary Exam results to OASIS, 2301 Stone Building.
* Deadline for Spring 2019 admitted Educator Preparation graduate program students to submit the appropriate online Educator Preparation Application<https://education.fsu.edu/student-resources/student-academic-services-oasis/for-graduate-students> and for the receipt all official passing FTCE GK exam<http://www.fl.nesinc.com/> scores by Florida State University.
May 3, 2019 – Semester Ends
* Last day for thesis and dissertation and students graduating this semester to receive an email from Manuscript Clearance confirming final manuscript clearance.
* Deadline for submission of Spring 2019 Graduate Certificate Admission applications<https://education.fsu.edu/degrees-and-programs/certificate-programs> and Spring 2019 Graduate Certificate Completion applications<https://education.fsu.edu/degrees-and-programs/certificate-programs> to OASIS.
Saturday, May 4, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. (Eastern US) – Spring 2019 Commencement Ceremony for the College of Education. Contact graduation at fsu.edu<mailto:graduation at fsu.edu> for questions.

IMPORTANT GRADUATE STUDENT DATES
Spring 2019
January 4, 2019
Last day to file for change in residency status.
Drop/Add
January 7 – January 10, 2019 – Spring 2019 add/drop registration window.
Students are tuition/fee liable for any coursework remaining on their schedule after the drop/add deadline. To cancel your schedule without tuition/fee liablity, email the Registrar’s Office at registrar at fsu.edu<mailto:registrar at fsu.edu> before the end of the drop/add period.
First Day of Classes
January 7, 2019 - Spring 2019 classes begin.
Late Registration
January 7 – January 10, 2019
Late registration fees ($100.00) will not be waived.
January 10, 2019 - Fourth Day of Classes
* Last day to Drop/Add and have fees adjusted.
* Last day to cancel enrollment and have fees removed.
* Last day to add a course without Academic Dean’s permission.
* Students are liable for all tuition/fees for courses remaining on their schedules at 11:59 p.m. (Eastern US).
* Drop/Add ends at 11:59 p.m. (Eastern US).
Spring 2019 Graduation Application Period
January 14 – January 25, 2019 – Apply online at https://my.fsu.edu<https://my.fsu.edu/>. Please visit http://registrar.fsu.edu/services/graduation/ for more details.
* NOTE: You are required to apply for graduation even if you do not intend to attend the Commencement Ceremony.
* January 25, 2019 is the last day to apply for Spring 2019 Graduation.
