[Art-instructors] New Chair

Hello All,

You've all been informed that I am stepping down as Chair and leaving the department at the end of the semester. I am happy to share that Professor Anne Stagg has recently agreed to take on the role of Interim Chair for the next year.

The college and faculty enthusiastically support Professor Stagg in this new role, which came about after a nomination and a vast majority of the faculty's vote. We are all grateful that Professor Stagg has accepted and extend our thanks and support in this transition.

Professor Stagg will bring an incredible record of leadership with her into the new role. In addition to her 6 years of service as Foundations Director, Professor Stagg has twice held the role of Assistant & Associate Chair under two different administrations, and chaired our Undergraduate Committee. Most recently she has spearheaded broad updates to departmental curriculum at every level, with the goal of better supporting student progress through our programs and aligning with university and state expectations.

Please congratulate Professor Stagg when you see her. I have no doubt she will be incredibly effective as Interim Chair, a role which will officially begin May 7th.
