[Agedirectors] Passing of Frank Caro

Hi all,

It has come to my attention that some of you may know Frank Caro, who served as director of the Gerontology Institute at UMass, Boston. Frank sadly passed away on October 2nd. Per the article link below, Frank is survived by Carol, his wife of 55 years. He leaves behind his twin sons, David and Paul Caro, as well as David’s wife, Ashima Dayal, and their sons, Jasper and Bennett, and Paul’s wife, Liz Slagus, all of Brooklyn, NY. Frank is also survived by his brother, James Caro, and his wife, Barbara, of Seattle, WA, and his sister, Betsy Chanier, and her husband, Jacques, of St. Lo, France. A Memorial Service is being  planned for a future date.

Professor Emeritus Frank Caro helped build UMass Boston's gerontology program into an international leader. He served as the Gerontology Institute's director and chair of the UMass Boston Gerontology Department, among other roles, over his career. But Caro, who died on Oct. 2, was just as well known for his kindness, thoughtfulness and humility.
