[Isl] Barbara Boone joins ISL's Community Advisory Board

Barbara Boone has joined the Institute for Successful Longevity as a member of the institute’s Community Advisory Board.

Boone serves as Vice President and Executive Director of Leadership Tallahassee for the Greater Tallahassee Chamber of Commerce.  She is a graduate of Florida State University’s School of Social Work.

Boone is originally from Neptune Beach and before moving to Tallahassee was Associate Director of Leadership Jacksonville.  She has served as president of the Junior League of Jacksonville and president of the Board of Trustees of the Episcopal Children’s Services.

In Tallahassee, she has been on the boards of the Friends of the Leon County Public Library and of United Partners for Human Services, and she is a Founding Member/past Board Member of the Institute for Nonprofit Innovation and Excellence and of the Oasis Center for Women and Girls.

On the national level, Boone was on the Board of the Association of Leadership Programs, the community leadership industry sector’s umbrella organization. She currently serves on the board of the Tallahassee Symphony Orchestra, the Florida Bar Unlicensed Practice of Law committee.
