Dr. Hyejin Park has joined the Institute for Successful Longevity as a Faculty Affiliate.

Park, who earned her Ph.D. from the University of Iowa, is Associate Professor in the College of Nursing and a Registered Nurse. Her research interests focus on developing and use of technology for caregivers and people with dementia. This line of study especially focuses on underrepresented populations, such as Korean Americans and older adults. For example, her previous study focused on identifying support needs of Korean and Chinese American caregivers of persons with dementia in order to support future development of a culturally and linguistically appropriate caregiving mobile app.

Her other lines of studies involve data-driven analyses. These studies implement data mining and text mining techniques (a) to classify mobile based health resources from the literature and (b) to capture needs of people with dementia and their caregivers from social media.
