Hi All,

If you have time next Tuesday, the Office of Research has put together a very brief (half hour) informational webinar regarding various NEA grants. Both the GAP and Challenge America grants they plan on discussing ultimately need to be submitted through organizations with governmental or non-profit status. Still, the matching funds and reputational currency bestowed by a NEA grant could benefit those of you who are already working with or are planning a collaboration with exhibition venues, community groups, etc.

Thanks!

Jeff

RD Webinar: National Endowment for the Arts’s (NEA’s) “Grants for Arts Projects (GAP)” and “Challenge America”

Date: Tues., Feb.6, 2024, 3pm-3:30pm

Register here: https://www.research.fsu.edu/research-offices/ord/events/2024-spring-neas-gap-challenge-america/

In this talk, Eleanor Billington, the Civic Partnerships Manager for the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA), will present on two of the agency's most valuable funding opportunities: the "Grants for Arts Projects (GAP)" program and the "Challenge America" program. This talk will offer artists at FSU an opportunity to consider how they might bring their creative aspirations to fruition with federal funding. Ms. Billington will present a brief PowerPoint for 10-15 minutes on the GAP and Challenge America programs and then open the floor for questions and conversation. Audience members are encouraged to bring questions related to their own projects.

* Grants for Arts Projects (GAP)<https://www.arts.gov/grants/grants-for-arts-projects> offers support for projects from a broad range of artistic disciplines which foster public engagement with the arts and arts education, the integration of the arts with strategies promoting the health and well-being of people and communities, and/or the improvement of overall capacity and capabilities within the art sector. Matching/cost share grants ranging from $10,000 to $100,000 will be awarded.

* Challenge America<https://www.arts.gov/grants/challenge-america> offers support primarily to small organizations for projects that extend the reach of the arts to underserved groups/communities. Matching/cost share grants of $10,000 will be awarded.

(Note: FSU is permitted to advance only one application to either GAP or Challenge America per calendar year. If you are hoping to apply for either of those opportunities, submit your notification of interest via the FSU Limited Submissions portal<https://www.research.fsu.edu/limitedsubmission> prior to the internal deadline, Feb. 19, 2024 at 5pm ET.)

Thank you for your consideration!

Sincerely,
