My name is Almara Hutchinson, a PhD Candidate at West Virginia University. I am conducting a research study on how Directors and Coordinators of Clinical Education plan and manage graduate clinical placements in speech-language pathology, occupational therapy, and physical therapy. I am inviting DCEs and CCEs who have experience coordinating placements to participate in an interview.

This study seeks to explore how placement planning happens in real contexts, including how decisions are made, what influences those decisions, and how student-centered practices are understood within these processes. Your insight is key to better understanding the complex and often hidden work of clinical education administration, which impacts student learning, clinical readiness, and workforce preparation.
Participation includes one confidential Zoom interview lasting about 60 minutes. There is no compensation, but your contribution has important value. Findings will help illuminate current practices in clinical education and may support improved systems, planning efficiencies, and learning experiences for programs and students across the allied health professions.
All information will be kept as confidential as legally possible. You may skip any question or withdraw at any time.
If you are eligible and choose to be a participant you will receive further communication from me regarding next steps in early December 2025. Interviews will begin in January 2026.
