[Seuce-cci] Peer Review for Nontenure/Clinical Educators

Hello friends!  I hope this message finds you all well and gearing up for SEUCE!

I'm reaching out because I'd love to get your input and guidance about peer reviews for nontenure/clinical educators.  These reviews would be used to assess annual performance reviews, merit, and promotions (yes, our clinical educators are on a promotion path).  This is new to our program as we transitioned from "clinical faculty" to "faculty of instruction."  It was a positive move for our particular program and situation.  Any guidance you can share about "been there done that," or development of such a review will be so appreciated!

In similar fashion to Tenure line faculty, we must now get peer teaching reviews.  Some of our clinical faculty teach in the classroom, but for many, their teaching is strictly clinical education/supervision.  Do any of you all (or know anyone who) do clinical educator peer reviews? Would you be willing to share what that looks like?  Some of our internal questions as we develop a departmental policy:

  *   Do we observe individual clinician/ CE meetings? How many?
  *   Can SLP CEs accurately observe/assess AUD CEs, and vice versa?
  *   What might a teaching portfolio look like?  So this would be something CEs submit to the department that covers teaching philosophy, pedagogical/androgogical practices/innovative teaching, etc?
