In the fall of 2022, the department included 19 faculty and staff serving over 200 students. The chair has a 12-month appointment, including scholarship and teaching responsibilities.

The Department of Communication Disorders at Texas State University invites applications for an open-rank faculty position at the rank of assistant professor, associate professor, or professor to begin Fall 2023. This is a full-time, nine-month, tenure-track position with the possibility of summer teaching.
