[Seuce-cci] Charging for Univ telepractice?

It is so good to hear from everyone and to hear about all the great ideas and options. We completed our first week of teletherapy last week at FSU. Considering the massive undertaking, all went well. We find we have become mini-technology experts as we get some of our older patients up and running! We will finish the spring semester on teletherapy for treatment and will also be online for summer. Our spring diagnostic teams are finishing this semester on Simucase and we will probably try to do a combination of Simucase and some telepractice diagnostics over the summer. Fingers crossed! We are charging for our services billing both the insurance companies who are allowing teletherapy and the private pay patients.

Great news from the CFCC! Onward and upward!

We are in the same boat at Baylor – we do use both Lesson Pix, News 2 U, and Therasimplicity. All are wonderful, and I would advise anyone to get them if possible.

Hi everyone,

This is great to hear about the CFCC extension – Thanks, Lynn! At UGA, we are also implementing SimuCase and are getting ready to start telepractice in our clinic for some of our clients. We are not charging this semester for telepractice services, but we would like to charge this summer. I would appreciate recommendations on webinar training resources for students and supervisors, if you have those to share.

We have not used LessonPix. Do any of you know how it compares to TheraSimplicity?

Thanks for sharing your resources. It is helpful to know what you are doing to manage clinical experiences during this crisis!

Carol Ann

[EXTERNAL SENDER - PROCEED CAUTIOUSLY]

Good morning,

Here at VSU, we have moved to teletherapy for the remainder of the semester as well as use SimuCase. We have also assigned some activities in Goreact.com where the students records themself performing a certain task on an individual that is living with them. We plan to use this same format for the summer semester.

Sincerely,

Lorena

Hello All,

Like many of you, we have had crash courses in telepractice and we are finishing out the semester of our on-campus clinic by using telepractice. We are not charging our clients' families for this service as we felt we certainly were not experts in telepractice and the families had not originally signed up to receive services via telepractice.

However, the decision has been made that we will be providing classes and clinic services online this summer as it is just too uncertain how long COVID-19 is going to keep us all sheltering in place. We would like to know if other University clinics are currently charging for telepractice services, or are going to be charging for these services as we move forward.

We appreciate any thoughts, advice, experiences, you have to share on this topic. While telepractice is not new....it's definitely new to us! Thank you all!
