[Law-envtlcert] Announcing the 2026 APA PLD Babcock-Smith-Williams Student Writing Competition!

Hello Environmental Law Students,

The APA Planning Law Division is accepting submissions for a student writing competition and are seeking papers on "any question of significance in planning, planning law, land use law, local government law or environmental law." You can see more details in the email below and attached flyer, but of note, there are cash prizes for the top three finishers! The deadline for submissions is June 30th, and you may submit an article even if it has been accepted for publishing already, as long as you secure permission from the publishing journal.

The APA Planning Law Division is currently collecting submissions for the 2026 SBW Student Writing Competition. Students writing at the intersections of planning and legal systems are encouraged to submit their work for consideration! APA provides three cash prizes for awardees, with potential to publish. The submission window closes June 1st, with instructions and details attached here.

Any questions or submissions can be e-mailed to me as the award Chair, with subject line "SBW Writing Competition."
