Dear FSU Environmental Law Certificate Students,

The attorneys from Earthjustice’s Clean Energy Program, Community Partnerships Program, and Florida Regional Office are hosting the virtual panel event, How Earthjustice Builds a Justice-Centered Environmental Movement on Thursday, September 8 at 12:00 p.m. ET. During this panel, they will discuss their career paths and how their work affects communities.

Panelists include:

  * Dominique Burkhardt – Senior Attorney, Florida Regional Office
  * Jasmine Crenshaw – Associate Attorney, Community Partnerships Program
  * Lorena Velez – Associate Attorney, Florida Regional Office
  * Mychal Ozeata – Senior Associate Attorney, Clean Energy Program

This panel is a great opportunity for any student who is interested in practicing law in a social justice context post-graduation. Earthjustice is driven by a passion for justice—for people and for the environment. All interested students can register for the event here<https://urldefense.com/v3/__https:/earthjustice-org.zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_bwAm7aTQT3u1dk2SG0rxFg__;!!PhOWcWs!0m5Is9ZE_lBkYREYbmrpqwZD76d_sWPL-cVBcPcqkwHPtAZe87IWa8hOSxEMyVVGFnG-nHt2Q7mOJyOrxN7ne4w$>.

Also, registration is open for Earthjustice 2023 Summer Law Clerkships<https://urldefense.com/v3/__https:/earthjustice.org/about/jobs/40538/law-clerkship-summer-2023__;!!PhOWcWs!0m5Is9ZE_lBkYREYbmrpqwZD76d_sWPL-cVBcPcqkwHPtAZe87IWa8hOSxEMyVVGFnG-nHt2Q7mOJyOrxKf38kw$>. Earthjustice is not participating in OCI this year, but students may apply to as many of their 20 offices and programs as they would like. The application deadline is on Friday, September 23. The Earthjustice Summer Clerkship position includes a weekly stipend of $1,280 a week, with the average clerkship lasting 10 weeks (approximately $12,800 total). The total stipend amount will be dependent on the extent of a clerk’s ability to secure outside funding. Earthjustice will pay $1,280 a week less the total amount received from other sources. Outside funding is strong encouraged, however, the ability to secure outside funding will not be considered as part of the hiring decision. Note the stipend is taxed, so stipend payments are less applicable taxes.

*Applications will be reviewed in September with offers extended no later than December.
