Initiative on Climate Risk and Resilience Law: The Sabin Center for Climate Change Law is hiring two attorneys to advance the Initiative on Climate Risk and Resilience Law (ICRRL)<https://urldefense.com/v3/__https:/www.icrrl.org/__;!!PhOWcWs!0BMm6jkSJK3mIOLsl2m_S7LI-5EULKZWkJpwPJ79WS8xFhpZvvZ3Ui39bH6pRRXtu7XZWzH9OwbgOOlUdwokIw5FRg$>, which the Center established in June 2021 in partnership with Environmental Defense Fund, the Institute for Policy Integrity at New York University School of Law, and Vanderbilt University School of Law. These positions are open until filled.

  *   One attorney will enhance and expand the Center’s work on climate risk and financial regulation, and play a leading role in ICRRL’s work on in the FinReg space. Qualifications: 3-8 years of professional legal experience with a government agency, NGO, law firm, corporation, or law school center.   *   One attorney will work on a range of issues in the electricity sector, FinReg, and other domains to develop innovate legal solutions to mitigate and manage climate-related risks. Qualifications: 1 - 3 years of professional legal experience with a government agency (including through a clerkship), NGO, law firm, corporation, or law school center. Recent graduates may also be considered. CO2 Transport and Sequestration: The Sabin Center for Climate Change Law seeks a fellow to lead a one-year grant funded project exploring the legal framework for international transport of carbon dioxide (CO2) for sequestration. Under the supervision of the Center’s Faculty Director and Executive Director, the fellow will research international and domestic (U.S.) laws governing the cross-border transport of CO2 for sequestration, with a particular focus on how such transport fits into broader climate and environmental protection regimes. Qualifications: 2-8 years of professional legal experience with a government agency, NGO, law firm, corporation, or law school center. Experience in carbon capture and sequestration, international carbon markets, and/or climate finance preferred. This position is open until filled. Climate Justice and Equity Fellow: The Sabin Center for Climate Change Law seeks a Climate Justice and Equity Fellow for a one-year appointment. Under the supervision of Michael Gerrard, Faculty Director and Michael Burger, Executive Director, the fellow will conduct independent research, literature reviews, and benchmarking studies on a wide variety of issues related to climate justice and equity, as well as develop and implement advocacy strategies. The incumbent will work on research and writing projects concerning justice and equity in the context of climate change mitigation and adaptation; contribute to advocacy-oriented programs and projects; help organize conferences, seminars, and collaborative publications; contribute to conceptualization, management and implementation of the Center’s web resources; and assist with oversight of interns and volunteers, among other projects. Qualifications: 1 - 3 years of professional legal experience with a government agency (including through a clerkship), NGO, law firm, corporation, or law school center. Recent graduates will also be considered. The anticipated start date for this position is September 2022.
