Dear students interested in Environmental, Energy, Land Use, and Natural Resources Law,

October 30 lecture: Please mark your calendars for what promises to be a very interesting lecture by Professor David Spence on Wednesday, October 30, from 3:30-4:30 PM in room 310, followed by a reception in the rotunda. This event will be the Environmental Program’s distinguished lecture for Fall 2019. David Spence is the Baker Botts Chair in Law at the University of Texas School of Law and Professor of Business Government & Society at the McCombs School of Business.  His scholarship addresses the environmental and economic regulation of the oil and gas industry and the electric utility industry.  His lecture, Complexity and the Energy Transition in the Age of Fracture, will explore how making progress on climate mitigation will require not only resolve but also difficult tradeoffs and value choices.
