Dear Environmental Certificate students,

The Planning & Law Division of the American Planning Association is currently accepting submissions for its 36th Annual Smith-Babcock-Williams Student Writing Competition. The Competition is open to law students and planning students writing on a question of significance in planning, planning law, land use law, local government law or environmental law. Students are encouraged to submit relevant research papers prepared throughout the academic year, so this is an excellent outlet for completed law review and journal notes. The winning entry will be awarded a prize of $2,000 and submitted for publication in The Urban Lawyer, the law journal of the American Bar Association's Section of State & Local Government Law. The Second Place paper will receive a prize of $400, and one Honorable Mention prize of $100 will also be awarded. The submission deadline is June 7, 2019. Winners will be announced by August 26, 2019. Please refer to the attached official rules for further details.
