Dear All,

The Environmental Law Institute<https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=http-3A__www.eli.org_&d=DwMFaQ&c=HPMtquzZjKY31rtkyGRFnQ&r=uGGGbmUSleSJUVhvzj7BDQ&m=0vzy2ILs90I0R-nrn-zm1J6jXjCEXvjKFisfno7Jmdo&s=4mpjJJ2Bh41wQVVs0a_1J7p8jxJNodDfw4GIK2juaxM&e=> (ELI) is again pleased to announce the 2017-18 Henry L. Diamond Constitutional Environmental Law Writing Competition. Our goal is to recognize students who have advanced the state of scholarship through original analysis of cutting-edge topics in this area, broadly defined. The winner receives a $2000 cash prize and publication in our flagship journal, the Environmental Law Reporter<https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=http-3A__www.elr.info_welcome.cfm-3FCFID-3D4478913-26CFTOKEN-3D24214019&d=DwMFaQ&c=HPMtquzZjKY31rtkyGRFnQ&r=uGGGbmUSleSJUVhvzj7BDQ&m=0vzy2ILs90I0R-nrn-zm1J6jXjCEXvjKFisfno7Jmdo&s=b-N7doq5cOc31vpj0KBVN9BTCXoki4aYdNlnRuzjoGM&e=> (ELR).

Last year’s competition produced winner Ben Raker of Vanderbilt Law School, whose article “Decentralization and Deference: How Different Conceptions of Federalism Matter for Deference and Why that Matters for Renewable Energy” will appear in the upcoming November issue of ELR. We’ll be interested to see if anyone can break Vandy’s recent stranglehold on the award (two consecutive years)!

A copy of this year's competition notice is attached; we would greatly appreciate your circulating it among your students. Submissions are due by April 9, 2018. For more about the competition and past winners, please visit http://www.eli.org/constitution-courts-and-legislation/diamond-constitutional-environmental-law-writing-competition<https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=http-3A__www.eli.org_constitution-2Dcourts-2Dand-2Dlegislation_diamond-2Dconstitutional-2Denvironmental-2Dlaw-2Dwriting-2Dcompetition&d=DwMFaQ&c=HPMtquzZjKY31rtkyGRFnQ&r=uGGGbmUSleSJUVhvzj7BDQ&m=0vzy2ILs90I0R-nrn-zm1J6jXjCEXvjKFisfno7Jmdo&s=8csK7wLVIIxdpjHiKzQuRv_Z5lA9i1Rkif3elB-UMFQ&e=>, and if you have any questions, please contact Lovinia Reynolds at reynolds at eli.org<mailto:reynolds at eli.org>.
