Subject: APA Planning & Law Division Writing Competition Announcement - Cash Prizes & Publication in The Urban Lawyer!
Hello!
As Chair of the Planning & Law Division of the American Planning Association, I ask that you forward this email with the attached announcement to your fellow law review editors and staff members. PLD is currently accepting submissions for its 34th Annual Smith-Babcock-Williams Student Writing Competition. The Competition is open to law students and planning students writing on a question of significance in planning, planning law, land use law, local government law or environmental law. Students are encouraged to submit relevant research papers prepared throughout the academic year, so this is an excellent outlet for completed law review and journal notes. The winning entry will be awarded a prize of $2,000 and submitted for publication in The Urban Lawyer, the law journal of the American Bar Association's Section of State & Local Government Law. The Second Place paper will receive a prize of $400, and one Honorable Mention prize of $100 will also be awarded. Students should submit their entries as soon as possible, as the submission deadline is June 5, 2017. Winners will be announced by August 29, 2017. Please refer to the attached official rules for further details. Thank you!
