This was a great experience last year for Sarah Logan Beasley, a conference for students interested in food and agriculture. Lodging and meals are covered, and transportation scholarships are available, and I suspect the earlier you apply, the better chance you have of getting one of those.
And let me know if you apply, so I can put in a good word for you.

Subject: 2nd Food Law Student Leadership Summit this fall!
Dear Colleagues -
I am pleased to announce that the 2016 Food Law Student Leadership Summit is now accepting applications<https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=http-3A__foodlawstudentnetwork.org_summit_&d=CwMFAg&c=JL-fUnQvtjNLb7dA39cQUcqmjBVITE8MbOdX7Lx6ge8&r=96Aiy-TtMItRaZuDlBeP_ojT1BAquIKd1rm8Ep3hSis&m=kabDic3kLFgEpIbZbmHiKc75VaFd_cebH98M8CxaFwU&s=4zB5OfFYuRyIO5q4yaak57kzVlsmCNY3DpDLtzGXZj0&e=>! This year's Summit will be held from September 30th to October 2nd at Drake University Law School in Des Moines, co-hosted by Drake's Agricultural Law Center (thank you to listserv member Neil Hamilton!) and the Harvard Food Law and Policy Clinic, with support from the brand-new Food Law Student Network.
Last year's inaugural Summit was an overwhelming success, thanks to many of you and your excellent students. We brought together an incredible group of 100 law students from 50 law schools nationwide. Over the course of three days, the students learned about key food law and policy topics; heard from national leaders; and participated in policy simulations. While some came from schools with food law course offerings and students groups, for others it was the first time that they were able to immerse themselves in the field and meet committed students and professionals. You can read more about last year's Summit here<https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=http-3A__www.chlpi.org_food-2Dlaw-2Dand-2Dpolicy_food-2Dlaw-2Dstudent-2Dleadership-2Dsummit_&d=CwMFAg&c=JL-fUnQvtjNLb7dA39cQUcqmjBVITE8MbOdX7Lx6ge8&r=96Aiy-TtMItRaZuDlBeP_ojT1BAquIKd1rm8Ep3hSis&m=kabDic3kLFgEpIbZbmHiKc75VaFd_cebH98M8CxaFwU&s=TuY6We8GgujOi_lUsh-XrP1z-BtmLxsOZVrFstepqQc&e=>. This year's Summit will include many of the same elements as last year's, but will also reflect the Des Moines setting and feature a greater emphasis on agriculture and food production.
Last year, students made lasting connections and laid the groundwork for a national network of food law students. Following last year's Summit, student attendees formed the Food Law Student Network to stay connected and foster collaboration on projects and opportunities. The Network is excited to have just launched its own website<foodlawstudentnetwork.org>. Members of the Network are actively involved in planning this year's Summit and will use it as a platform to build on the momentum from last year, engage new members, and plan their activities.
We would greatly appreciate your help in getting the word out about this opportunity. We encourage you to forward this email and/or the attached flyer to your networks and, importantly, reach out to any law students who may be interested in applying.
Thank you in advance for helping to spread the word, and please let me know if you have any questions!
