[Its-colocation-customers] Sliger Building Renovations and Customer Moves

Greetings,

We met with Facilities Construction personnel and sub-contractors last week, and confirmed that renovations at Sliger Building that have been discussed and planned for several years are expected to be completed by August 2021.

As expected for some time, customers who have computer equipment in either Rooms 102 or 104 at Sliger Building will be asked to help coordinate move of their equipment to the main server room in BFS 103.

Included with renovations will be addition of more cooling capacity, which will allow us to grow the Data Center to continue to support our customers' needs.

At this time, we are discouraging all customer growth except for basic maintenance until such time later to be determined by expected completion of construction. Please send email to rcc-support at fsu.edu<mailto:rcc-support at fsu.edu> with any requests for exception.

We will be contacting customers by department in the near future to provide eventual destination specifications for equipment to be moved, and work with each for particular re-location needs.
