Dear all,
Happy New Year!
I’m part of this NIH IPERT-supported AI Passport program as an instructor. Now the program is about to launch. It’s a free 14-week, cohort-based online education program aimed at building foundational AI literacy for biomedical and clinical researchers. No coding is required. Note that UF GatorLink is not required for the registration. See detailed below. The syllabus is attached.

Dear Chairs,
I am writing to ask for your support in encouraging faculty, staff, and trainees within your departments to consider enrolling in AI Passport for Biomedical and Clinical Research, a new 14-week, cohort-based educational program developed at the University of Florida.
The inaugural cohort will begin January 12, and registration will close on January 16.
Funded by the NIH IPERT program and developed by UF faculty across medicine, engineering, data science, law, and ethics, AI Passport is designed to build foundational AI literacy across the biomedical and clinical research enterprise. The program emphasizes scientific rigor, reproducibility, ethics, and translational relevance, while remaining accessible to participants without prior AI or coding experience.
AI Passport may be particularly valuable for:
* Faculty integrating AI into grants, publications, or collaborative research
* Trainees preparing for academic, clinical, or industry careers
* Research staff and administrators supporting AI-enabled projects
The curriculum combines short-format learning, hands-on work with real biomedical data, expert faculty instruction, and a culminating impact project focused on real-world applications.
Your encouragement plays an important role in signaling the institutional importance of responsible and well-informed AI use. We would be grateful if you could share this opportunity with your faculty, staff, and trainees.
