The CTSA Informatics Core is pleased to announce two upcoming hands-on webinars this spring designed to support researchers across the translational spectrum. These workshops will provide practical training in advanced data science methods applied to clinical and translational research.

Building Prediction Models with Electronic Health Records Data
March 5, 2026 | 10:00–11:30 AM

Speakers:

This hands-on workshop will introduce key principles and best practices for developing prediction models using EHR data. Topics will include cohort definition, feature engineering from structured and unstructured EHR data, model selection and evaluation, and common challenges such as data leakage and bias.

The session aligns with the CTSA Informatics mission to strengthen data science and analytics capabilities by building practical skills for reproducible, clinically meaningful prediction modeling.

Building LLM-Based Health Applications with LangChain and LangGraph
April 2, 2026 | 10:00–11:30 AM

This workshop will focus on the design and development of large language model (LLM)–based health applications using LangChain and LangGraph. Participants will learn how to build modular, agentic workflows for clinical text processing, question answering, and decision support, with attention to data privacy, evaluation, and responsible AI practices in healthcare.

The session supports the CTSA Informatics mission by equipping investigators with practical tools to translate LLM technologies into secure, reproducible, and clinically meaningful health applications.
