Dear ISL affiliates,

I hope this message finds you well. As part of our continued efforts to strengthen the Institute for Successful Longevity (ISL) as a collaborative, interdisciplinary hub for aging research, we are formally launching our ISL Working Groups and would like to invite you to participate.

We are organizing three ISL Working Groups, each designed to bring together faculty, trainees, and collaborators around shared interests and complementary expertise:

  *
Basic Science Working Group
  *
Clinical Research Working Group
  *
Advanced Technology Working Group

These working groups will serve as platforms to:

  *
Identify emerging research opportunities and gaps in aging and longevity

  *
Foster interdisciplinary collaboration and team science
  *
Generate ideas for grants, workshops, white papers, and publications
  *
Support mentoring, networking, and community-building across ISL

We are currently scheduling the first meeting for each working group, which will focus on introductions, setting priorities, and brainstorming concrete activities for the coming year. Participation is flexible, and members are encouraged to engage in ways that best align with their interests, availability, and expertise.

If you are interested in joining one (or more) of the working groups, we would love to have you involved. Your perspective and contributions are essential to shaping ISL’s research agenda and impact.

Basic Science WG (Lead: Dr. Ravinder Nagpal)
Focuses on investigating the fundamental biological, psychological, and social mechanisms of aging and uncovering new knowledge that could lead to groundbreaking treatments and preventive strategies.

Clinical Research WG (Lead: Dr. Julia Sheffler)
Focuses on translational research that bridges the gap between laboratory research and practical, clinical applications and enhancing clinical practices and interventions that improve health outcomes for older adults.
