Happy New Year! As we begin Spring 2025, I want to extend my best wishes for a successful and fulfilling semester ahead. I am excited to share several upcoming opportunities and events that reflect our shared commitment to advancing aging research and engagement through the Institute for Successful Longevity.

1. ISL Planning Grant – 2025-2026 Round

The application period for the ISL Planning Grant will open on January 11, 2025, and close on March 23, 2025. In Fall 2024, each working group has met and discussed about creating online resources for training students, hosting events, writing collaborative papers. 3. Red Hills Village Health & Wellness Expo

ISL will have a table at the Red Hills Village 2025 Health & Wellness Expo on Thursday, January 16, 2025. This is an excellent opportunity to recruit older adults for your studies or share information about your research. We will be more than happy to bring your flyers, recruitment materials, or published papers to the event. 4. ISL Brown Bag Series

We have scheduled two exciting Brown Bag talks in the coming months:

5. ISL Poster Day – Save the Date!

We are tentatively planning the ISL Poster Day for March 27, 2025, from 12 PM to 3 PM. More details will be sent soon, but please mark your calendars for this event showcasing the innovative research of our affiliates and students.

6. Opportunities for collaborative grants

We are always excited to bring ISL affiliated together for collaborative grant opportunities. If you have promising funding opportunities to share, we would be more than happy to help with the teaming and development of the grants. Last fall, with the help of Office of Research Development, we submitted a letter of intent to the ARPA-H CATALYST program with many of you on the team. Even though we were not invited to submit the full proposal, it was a great experience learning about each other’s work and I’m hopeful it will lead to potential opportunities in the future.
